Dan Cates first had the idea of Actions Matter in 2013, when he entered recovery successfully for the first time after a 17 year addiction to pornography. Ten years later, after a challenging but successful road of patience, learning, and obedience working with other men, he began working on publishing content to the public online. This is the current iteration of that work.

In 2023, Dan was blessed to marry his beautiful wife, Rachel, and they live happily in Akron, Ohio where he works as a corporate accountant by day, and a sex addiction recovery coach by night.
